What stood out to me in this poem was that the witches were scared of what the storytelling witch told them of white people. These witches who were having a contest to see who had the most gruesome collection of things such as dead babies simmering in blood and skin bundles containing skin cut from fingertips and genitals, were scared of white people, who would destroy everything they fear, including other white people. It was also amusing to me that the other witches told the storytelling witch that what he or she said wasn't funny, that they were doing okay without it, and to take the story back. I imagined them as kids because of the way they denied the validity of the story, the fact that they thought that taking back what someone said would make things as if they were never said.
I could see this being in the introduction for a scary movie.
