In response to Adam

The mentioning of pingpong also stuck out for me in this poem.  It may have something to do with the hopelessness of the game, how the ball never really goes forward and no matter how hard you hit it, someone will be there to hit the ball back to you so this could be a metaphor for life, but I have no clue if that is what he is trying to go with.   Mentioning pingpong almost randomly,  the author really confuses me in the the line "hydrotherapy psychotherapy occupational therapy pingpong & amnesia" because the word "pingpong" seems so out of place in this line.  He is mentioning methods for psychiatric treatment and then he mentions pingpong which is not something that I was aware of that was used to treat the mentally ill.
